This weekend Seth and I had the honor of playing Mary and Joseph in the DC Temple Festival of Lights' Live Nativity. We got there and were put in costumes over our coats and mittens, and then taught the mime for the nativity sequence. We then went out and replaced the previous Mary and Joseph and got to do the navity about 10 times. Seth likes to tell people that we got a standing ovation (nevermind that everyone was already standing...they also ovated!) and that we had an encore performance (they really did ask us to do it one more time...). It was such a special experience, I wasn't expecting it to be taken into the thoughts and feelings of Mary's heart during the performance!
Our friend Kat was there and took pictures of us during the nativity. Unfortunately she caught me when my hair had fallen down....Seth said I shouldn't feel bad though, technically I'd just traveled by donkey and then given birth in a stable, so I guess I was just a "realistic" Mary rather than a "Picture perfect" Mary... :)

That's so cool Jane! You look great! I love the realistic expectations you have for your hair . . . having "just traveled by donkey and then given birth in a stable." Too cute!!

Merry Christmas!
Well that's neat that you guys could be Mary and Joseph. Seth's beard is pretty funny. Hannah thought it was sweet for you to be Mary. But she was wondering who was playing baby Jesus. I'm glad they got a doll in those frigid temps.
Jane... what a great experience! Wow, and you look BEAUTIFUL to boot :)
