If you could ask a member of the 12 ONE question....

Today I got the most interesting email from the institute director out here in Arlington:

I just received a phone call from Church Headquarters. Elder Richard G. Scott of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles needs you to answer one question for him today. If you do not receive and respond to this email today, Friday June 29, then you may disregard this request. This is his question:
"If an institute student could ask a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles any ONE question, what would it be?"
Please send your email response to Elder Scott's secretary...and then they gave her email address.

The email was sent out to our entire area singles congregation. At first I thought it must be an urban legend email or something, but then I received the email again from a more trusted source...and realized that it was absolutely legitimate.

So the next question that came to my mind...."what WOULD I ask???"

I thought for several minutes, and then wrote my response to the secretary. She replied with a thank you!

Before I post my question that I wrote to Elder Scott...I want to hear what you all would ask! Post in my comments, I'm excited to hear what everyone would ask.

I'm not sure how many of us remember this video that dad found and used in some of his BYU-I presentations, but the other day when I was doing a presentation for work, I remembered it and found it here at MetaCafe. I quickly downloaded it and put in my presentation, and it fit perfectly!
After the presentation the director of Financial Aid came back in to tell my boss that he was very impressed with the presentation (knocked his socks off, he said) and then he said it's as if i've been giving presentations for 10 years. When my boss passed the word along, i said "well, i guess I have, because i remember sitting with my dad in his office and watching him put togeter a presentation." Dad has taught us all so much, and I'm just grateful that we got to learn from a master teacher. Thanks Dad!

Five Things!

What was I doing ten years ago?
14 1/2. I frequently read my Russian Book of Mormon (I really wanted to impress a certain mission president's son). I also had an interesting smile and talk (also part of the impressing thing...). I played the violin on sunday nights with Ann Keller, played 8th grade volleyball and basketball, and I ran the 400 and did the high jump in track.

What was I doing one year ago?
Well, aparently, I'm very stable because I've been doing the exact same thing for the past year :) working at CUA Law, dating that hot boy Seth, living in Arlington in a lovely white house with red shutters, commuting daily in Seth's car...i'm just missing that white picket fence, huh? Hopefully all these things will change soon--I'm applying for new jobs and shopping for picket fences ;)

Licorice (black and red)
Smoothies (My new fave is Orange Peach)
Cold Stone (Cake Batter with Black Cherries and Graham Cracker Crust...MMMM!)
Tapioca Pudding

Five things I would do if I were a millionaire?
-Let's be honest--NEW Fancy Wardrobe!
-Have a nice house with a hot tub and pool. (maintained by our in-house maintenance worker/housekeeper/driver)
-Make friends with the owner of an Airline so we can all have free air travel.
-Become friends with Mr. Marriott of Marriott Hotels so we all have a place to stay when we travel!
-Probably start a Non-Profit that has something to do with Kids. And Coloring ( i love coloring)

Playing Games! (Pass the Pigs, Ticket to Ride, and Settlers are my faves)

Slouching
Biting the side of my tongue or my lip when i'm stressed
Crying (gosh....can't keep a dry eye during those touching moments!)
Having the "foofs" (i know, that's disgusting, but i seriously can't help it! Bring on the TUMS!)
Blog Surfing (I love seeing what random people write!)

We Made Mitt Romney's Website!

Today we found out that we made it onto Mitt Romney's website at http://fivebrothers.mittromney.com/ Here's the Photo. We're feeling awesome today :)

Mitt'n'Me

Tonight we went to a Mix n' Mingle with Mitt hosted by the DC Republican Young Professionals Society. This is one of the reasons why it's cool to live in DC!

The Fuel Pump

Monday was rainy and fairly humid/cold. Seth called and said "Janey, I can't get the car to start." So i started walking. In the rain. Toward seth's house and the metro. Seth finally got the car to start and picked me up. We weren't sure what was wrong so we decided that i might as well take it to work and we'd take it in that night to the mechanic. We got recommendations during the day.

Fast foward. Driving home. (Did I mention seth lost his wallet the day before?...thus, i was driving). About 1/2 mile from home, the car suddenly started decelerating...fast. Luckily, we made it to the side of the road on the shoulder. But nothing. We could get the car to start, but as soon as we pushed on the gas it would die.

Rob came and towed us back to Seth's house. We called AAA and they towed it yesterday to the mechanic.

Fuel Pump. Bad News: we took it to the wrong mechanic. Good News: There was a recall on all of the 2000 Nissan Exterra fuel pumps, meaning we don't have to pay for it! Bad News: we have to tow the car again...to the dealer. Good News: Our friend Rob will help us tow it so it'll be free!

I can't say this has been the easiest week, but I'm really glad we didn't die. And I'm really glad that the fuel pump went out instead of the brakes, or the steering mechanism, or all of the tires at once or something. And I'm glad that the fuel pump was faulty so that it's not our fault it went bad. And I'm glad that Seth has been so good and so optimistic about it all, and really made things easier (he even walked with me to cold stone last night to get dark chocolate ice cream with black cherries in it! De-Licious!)

The worst part about all of this....is that I just accidentally posted it on our recipe blog on accident. While this IS a recipe for disaster, it definately is not a Price Family Favorite ;)

New Blog Look

I was going to go for something summery....and well, i ended with red white and black...not necessarily a summer blog color. However, i am thrilled with it! Yay! Thanks for your help Heathy.

Tessa and Andy are Engaged!

I'm Just so Happy!

I have to admit, I cried when he broke up with Bevin. Just because it's so hard for her, and he was so sad. But I also teared up when Tessa and Andy got engaged, because I was just so thrilled for them! More to come.
