I Heart Beadiful Things

Those of you who read my wedding blog know that I'm in love with the new pearl hair comb that I bought to wear with my wedding dress. I promised myself I wouldn't go wedding crazy on all my blogs, but I'll give you a little glimpse of the comb....

But that's not all, folks. Ann Westby has TOTALLY GEORGEOUS jewelry for EVERY Occasion! I seriously could buy her whole website, but I must show restraint. Here are just a few of my favorites:
Cherry Blossoms:

and The Yellow Sassy Earrings:

and the "Barely There" but perfect with every outfit pair:
Or the Perfect with my dalmation dress brown circles:
And MANY more!
And for those of you who are thinking "hello i don't have my ears pierced!!!" don't fret, she's got NECKLACES too!!!!

This is my FAVORITE!

Ahhh Every girl can dream, right? Ann has a website here, and she also has a shop on etsy here. Feel free to browse and dream with me, friends! I think to top it all off, she's just totally nice and helped me every step along the way with making my "perfect hair comb". Thanks Ann!

Pretty pretty quilt thanks heathy!

I'm copying Heathy to have a chance to win the quilt, too! Yay for pretty quilts!!!

Go to THIS SITE

And see if you can win THIS QUILT:

Thanks Heathy! If I win we'll timeshare the quilt :)

Quilt Squares are Complete!

16 Brown, 4 Blue. I think they turned out well! We're exchanging them this Saturday, I can't wait to put the rest together! If I get it done in time, I'll display it at my wedding!

I'm not sure I believe this one...

I just came across this article and thought it was so odd sounding...haven't we heard our whole lives that the boy determines the outcome of the gender of a baby??

If this is true, does it mean that if I want to have baby girls that I should go on a wedding diet and then follow up with a baby girl diet? Bring on the salad!

Boston Marathon 2008

We made it in to Boston, and Seth's friend Mike picked us up! We went to this FABULOUS Indian Restaurant (i'm still salivating) with Mike and his wife Katie, and our Katie and Seth and Me. MMMMM Delish!
The next day we went to church at the Longfellow Park 2nd Ward, and we saw Chelsea Ashton (friend from college!) and then we saw Bro and Sister Cobia of Sugar City!!! It was so fun to see them, (and so random!!! At a singles ward in boston? Seth said "man, sugar city is everywhere!") We chatted with them for awhile, and then Seth saw some friends from BYU (Hi Amy from the ballroom team!)

After church we went down to the Marathon finish line to pick up the packets for the runners. We got some pictures at the finish line, which was lucky because the next day i couldn't even get close!

We got to walk around Boston common and go to this park...I think it's the boston common park...but who knows. It was great!

Boston really gets into the marathon....almost as much as they're into the Red Sox. The churches even endorse the race!

And Seth is going to be next year's Boston Marathon Model. Ha ha isn't he so funny?

After we walked around for awhile, we met up with Ryan and Lauren Wood, and got to see Lauren's Showcase! I'm SOOOOO sad we didn't get any pictures with Ryan and Lauren--I can't even believe that we forgot to take pictures with them! Lauren's Showcase is amazing, she is such a great actor/singer/dancer! I'm excited to see the things that will come to both of these fine people. We're excited to know the famous Woods!

The next morning Seth and Katie got up wayyyyy early and had Scott drive them to the busses that took them 26 miles out of town (bleh!) so that they could run back in all day. Both Seth and Katie did SO well! Katie beat her personal record by three seconds!!! Seth's final time was 3:24, which he was not completely satisfied with (His qualifying time was 3:06) but he was glad that he ran the race, and considering he's working 13 hour days as a first year associate attorney, I don't think he can feel sad about it--he's amazing.

While Seth and Katie were running, I took the T down from Harvard Square to Symphony station, where Ryan and Lauren live. It SERIOUSLY took me FOREVER....it was like running a marathon...oh wait, i can't make that comparison...it was like crossing the plains. (haha). really, the train didn't come for FOREVER and I kept getting smashed by people trying to get on other trains. I thought I might die a few times of clausterphobia, but luckily I made it out alive. Julie B called me along the way to give updates on the runners, bless her, she was my sanity! I made it down to Symphony and met up with Ryan and Lauren for Brunch at a local diner (yay thanks guys!) and then they showed me the way to the finish line. I once again was SMASHED around crowds of people, getting thrown this way and that. I finally saw a chain of friends that were sorting their way through the crowd by holding on to one another, so i grabbed onto the end guy's backpack and made my way up with them! I tried to get some pictures, but this was my view with my camera held up as high as i could reach:

After Seth and Katie finished, I went and found seth at the family meeting area, and he was shivering and freezing cold! The Medic was watching him and we had to go into a building and make him change and try to get him warm. He was so pale and I was so scared!!! The medic kept looking at me with this furrowed brow, and it made me more and more scared every time he looked at me! Once we got seth food and water and had him change out of his wet running clothes he warmed up and stopped shivering! Whew!

We went to Ryan and Lauren's house again and they let Seth and Katie shower (THANKS SO MUCH WOODS!) and then we all ran to dinner before running of to catch flights! A BIG thanks to Seth Wood and De Ette for taking us to the airport!!! We couldn't have made it without you two, thanks so much!!!

While at the airport seth and i noticed that he was a little burned....

All in all, this was my favorite trip to boston! We were so glad to meet up with wonderful friends and for seth to fill his lifelong goal to run the Boston Marathon!

Look out Boston

Here we come!

We're half way to boston, just sitting in the JFK airport. Seth and Katie (Right and Left) are running the Marathon, and I tagged along for the ride.

This is the weirdest airport, it's hot, muggy, and very...blue. Didn't mess with the lighting at all...strange huh? Seth just described the feeling as one when you feel sick and hot and foggy on the inside, except this is on the outside.

Another thing about the airport...it's skinny and small but packed with a lot of people, just like NYC...ahhhh the city life. I actually think i could live in New York for a few years and be perfectly happy. As long as we get to move west afterward. And as long as we don't have to live there when it's cold. Or really muggy like the airport.

Can't wait to post pictures of cute Sethy after running the dream marathon ever. Ahhhhh yay Seth!

Thoroughly Modern Millie

Tonight Seth and I were on youtube for something, and came across this clip. It reminded me of the show, which I haven't seen for years!!! (It was, however, the first broadway show I saw!) Seth hasn't ever seen it before so I think we'll have to watch it sometime--maybe on one of our many long flights coming up!

Details So Far!

I've had a few requests for details on the wedding!

We're getting married in the Bountiful Temple on July 12, 2008, in the afternoon.

Many have asked "Why Bountiful?" and um......that's a really great question? We just decided on it. My parents have lived in Nauvoo for the past year and a half, but they recently moved to Eaglewood (right by Bountiful) and my dad is now a Sealer in the Bountiful Temple. While he technically could seal us in any temple, as Seth and I were discussing wedding locations we just thought that Utah will be central to many of our family members and we think the Bountiful Temple is beautiful, so I think we both just kind of said "Why not?" and that was that!

I'm really excited to be getting married there. My grandma Ruth worked in the Bountiful temple, and I remember when I was little going through the Bountiful Temple open house and just loving every minute of it. It was also the first temple I did family baptisms in, so it has family and Grandma Ruth significance :) Seth....well, he's never been there, so it'll be a new and a "first" memory for us together!

Other details....are still in the works. We're almost solid on a place for the after temple festivities (what those necessarily are will be decided in the next few days) and we'll in all likelihood have a reception in Arizona either in late July or early August. Sigh. So many more decisions to make....

Sigh again. So much for this not being overtaken by wedding plans....I'll try to keep the rest on the wedding blog :)

We've set a date!
